Loss, Grief and Comedy
Watched Ali Siddiq's comedy standup special titled "The Domino Effect". He is a great storyteller and if you are not familiar with his work and enjoy comedy you should watch it.
The second part of his comedy special is called "Loss" and he starts it by saying "... most of the times in my community we don't talk about loss. In the streets people talk about their wins, but never about their losses, and there got to be some losses.".
The narrative goes about the many losses he had in his life, including the death of his younger sister and losing his freedom by going to jail. The sorrow there.
The many ways to come to grief. It is breaking and so special to witness the many ways people meet reality with all of the sorrow and beauty.
My heart feels full and barren.
